One hot Sicilian summer

We are sweltering through one hot summer here in Sicily, filled with the usual bushfire season.

Spot fires breaking out all around the island and some idiots also lighting up fires nearby.

Yesterday we were heartened by two Forestry helicopters flying back and forth getting loads of water to put out a nearby fire. God bless them, they spent most of the morning carting water.

They flew right nearby our house out in the country.

My little boy loved seeing them and kept waving at them.

While I tried to get the perfect photo. Not too successful I’m afraid.

But it was good to see that help isn’t far away if anything terrible happens.
